01 — THE STORY

FIFTH CHAMPIONSHIP · FIRST OF FOUR

Where the run began.

The Strangers entered the Fall 2025 championship series seeking the fifth title in franchise history. Slappy Seconds struck first in Game 1 and built a 2–0 lead, but the response was immediate and decisive: the Strangers scored six unanswered goals to take the opener, 6–2.

Four days later, the Strangers completed the sweep with a 4–2 victory. Anthony Steele and Sean Leipold supplied all four goals, with Leipold’s shorthanded second-period goal standing as the championship winner. Jason Mayo stopped 26 of 28 shots to close the series.

The two victories delivered championship number five. In time, the night would also be remembered as the opening chapter of a four-season championship run spanning Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer.
